Flora Fauna Project - Praying positions/Metamorphosis
Project by Maria Nilsson Waller and Stace Gill
(2025) Vaasa, Finland
I performed this work at Österbotten dansar dance festival in Vaasa at Vaasa art gallery. it was an exchange between Swedish and Finnish danceorganisations.
“With this solo we are trying to understand, befriend and repair our own bodies. We are listening to it, following traces of pain, un-doing tension accumulated over time. Looking at the act of prayer in the body, prayer as an animal instinct perhaps, or as a way of honestly releasing tension and expressing the passing of life and change through the body.”
Created over the course of a couple of years, the choreography resulted in an interactive score that can be made available to anyone via written instructions or as a workshop. Original music by The Sei.

Tunnlar under guds hud
(Tunnels under god’s skin)
(2024)
The piece was performed during an art exhibition in Umeå at Galleri Verkligheten.
This is a performative piece created by artist Love Törngren inspired by the sculpture he created for the exibition.
In the work, the five dancers explored movements of endurance and repetition. A sense of stillness was nevertheless present throughout, we were both observers and performers. The sculpture functioned as a sixth dancer, performing alongside us.

The cycle of violence
(2021)
A commissioned piece, ordered by the principal at Danscenter professional dance education, for the graduation performance “TellUs”
“Bodys caught in the rhythm of the group.
She moves to survive, but her inner world resists, restless, aching. The cycle is quiet, but relentless. Conformity becomes a shield.
She dances the violence we don't always see. To survive she moves with the others.”
