The film explores the warm feeling that characterizes life in a small community. It is inspired by a personal move back home to Jokkmokk from the capital. Through movement and interaction, the feeling of always being seen and greeted with warmth is depicted. The film is a celebration of the simple encounters that make a place a home.

Ruohttsot is a performance where traditional joik meets modern dance. We address topics such as home, belonging and exploitation, issues that feel more relevant than ever. Ruohttsot means "to take root" in Julevsami, and we portray our relationship to Jokkmokk, the place we have chosen to call home.
