MARAN
(Live Performance)
Maran is inspired by personal experiences of nightmares, on the threshold between sleeping and awake, where what happens in the mind feels physically real. Through repeated awakenings, the movement is interrupted again and again.
In Nordic folklore, the Mara was a female spirit believed to ride on the chests of sleeping people and animals at night. She was primarily understood as an explanation for nightmares and sleep paralysis.
The work conveys a sense of inner pressure, desire and unease. The dancers are caught in a state of being trapped, where expansive movements within a confined space lead nowhere. The hair becomes an untamed, driving force that both guides and restricts the movement.

Technical Requirements and Space
The piece requires no external technical equipment.
The only prop is a 2 × 2 metre mat, which must be securely taped to the floor.
The performance area is 2 × 2 metres, with approximately 2.5 metres of clearance required.
Mensdansen
(Live performance)
Through dance, rhythm, and movement, we explore the phases of the menstrual cycle, aiming to open up conversations about menstruation and wellbeing. The performance is for everyone, regardless of gender, and blends humor, emotion, and expressive dance.
Designed for schools/classrooms, it works both as a stage performance and a starting point for dialogue on inclusion, identity, and wellbeing.
A workshop can be added, giving students the chance to physically explore and reflect on their experience of the performance.

The film explores the warm feeling that characterizes life in a small community. It is inspired by a personal move back home to Jokkmokk from the capital. Through movement and interaction, the feeling of always being seen and greeted with warmth is depicted. The film is a celebration of the simple encounters that make a place a home.

Ruohttsot

Ruohttsot is a performance where traditional joik meets modern dance. We address topics such as home, belonging and exploitation, issues that feel more relevant than ever. Ruohttsot means "to take root" in Julevsami, and we portray our relationship to Jokkmokk, the place we have chosen to call home.
